Our nephew Luke (Kay's brother's son) has gone missing at a national park in Ecuador. If anyone can survive this, it would be Luke, who grew up in Nepal. But I am worried. Please pray for his safety and recovery.
Update: A search party of around 100 people has not turned up anything yet. The weather has been poor enough to prevent helicopter searches.

Small world, I keep running into MKs...

I wonder how he kept warm? According to the Ecuadorian news, he was in shorts and a t-shirt, and at 13000FT, it can get cold.

somehow I had gathered that he was. I think your comment on his being from Nepal, but nothing else mentioning it, and his picture not looking nepalese together tipped me off.

Here's an ecuadorian news story on his being found.
I've translated a few key paragraphs.
"Dornon survived around 30 hours at low temperatures thanks to his knowledge as a mountaineer 'and the hand of God' as his companions said."
"Dornon dealt with the cold thanks to his finding refufe in the midst of some bushes and covering his legs with a map, which was the only possesion he carried with him. He did not eat or drink during the whole incident"
"'It was a difficult fight that he had to keep up to avoid freezing' said John Mason, the US Embassy delegate who came to Cuenca to support the rescue operations"
Aparently he was following a trail Monday, and two cops who were nearby heard him, and then called in the Red Cross.
